Besides, it is the only system with a lying position for the patient.

Diagnostic explorations with 10 times lower emission than a traditional CT scan to guarantee a better attention to the patient’s health and higher in quality bone tissues. Regarding traditional x-rays, we have innovative solutions with high productivity and image quality. Our devices use all captured graphic data and optimize the recognition of the image obtained. Its ergonomic design is comfortable for the patient, allowing any type of exploration.

Otorhinolaryngology and Odontology

With the NewTom 5G XL, it is possible to visualize very clearly all airways, inner ear structures, boulders, mastoids and paranasal sinuses. According to the studies carried out, CBCT images identify the correct position of the implants in both the round window and the anvil, with the benefit of exposing the patient to less exposure doses. This is why this method is the most recommended in the follow-up examination of patients with middle ear prostheses.
The same benefits of this technology are also applicable to odontology and especially to maxillofacial surgery and implantology. The amount of information that can be collected in less time and with less radiation exposure is vital for ensuring treatment success.
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ)
NewTom 5G XL improves the diagnosis if TMJ. The sagittal and coronal splits offer an excellent representation of the articular space and help with the identification of pathologies. Due to the high quality and precision of the images, a correct anatomical evaluation of the TMJ can be conducted. Likewise, this quality and precision make it possible to differentiate between the height of the condyle and the mandibular ramus.
Sinuses study
In the study of paranasal sinuses, it is possible to observe maxillary, ethmoidal, frontal and sphenoidal sinuses, and also the relationship with structures of the nostrils and the retropharynx. Analyses of lesions of odontogenic origin, such as inflammatory, cystic and tumour lesions, and those of the maxillary sinus as well as the presence of adenoids in the retropharyngeal region can be conducted.
The NewTom 5G XL is perfect for more easily diagnosing small fractures, dislocations, luxations or alignment losses that may go unnoticed by other techniques, or even for verifying or excluding pathologies diagnosed by XR. CBCT acquisition makes it possible to immediately identify pathologies that cannot always be detected with 2D technology.
Cervical spine
Compared to MSCT, the better spatial resolution of CBCT makes it possible to clearly visualize the trabeculation and the cortex to identify possible dysplastic, inflammatory, traumatic, microtraumatic or neoplastic components. The connections between vertebral bodies are also perfectly legible to show distortions or subluxations. 3D examination can also be used for the study of the occipito-atloid joint and for the surgical programming of the osteosynthesis devices and prosthetic elements, as well as their evolution.
Osteoarticular study with metallic implants
For patients with metal implants, ConeBeam’s acquisition technology is ideal, as it allows metal devices to virtually disappear, allowing to perfectly examine the location of the osteosynthesis material and its connection to adjacent structures.

Lacrimal duct study “CT Dacryocystography”

To identify the presence of an obstruction in the lacrimal duct, the procedure involves a radiographic technique consisting of the opacification of the lacrimal duct by the introduction of contrast is performed.
