The Pain Unit is a unit in charge of the evaluation and treatment of pain conditions that, due to their characteristics of chronicity, complexity, resistance to conventional treatments, or when patients suffering from pain have a diminished tolerance to conventional drugs, require special drugs or treatment techniques.
These special treatment measures include both multidisciplinary management of the painful condition, optimization of pharmacological treatment, and the use of interventional techniques.
These techniques are performed in the operating room, with radiological control, either with ultrasound or with fluoroscopy, on an outpatient basis, so that the patient in most cases can go home after the procedure.
